Zone Conference and Stake Conference

Sorry for any confusion last week with me saying I didn't take many pictures. I didn't for the entire week until p-day where I took a lot of pictures. Shout out to all my friends getting mission calls even though I don't hear about them until weeks later when other missionaries email about it. I'm not bitter at all. Big congrats to Sam Alger for being called to the San Pablo mission in the best country to be called to. For those who can't guess where that is, Philippines. Duh. Keep me updated on cool things going on in life. Great to see Anna Low and Jonathan Avila in a Mormon Message! It's called "Compelling Witness" for those that want to check it out. Keep me posted!

Monday: We went to the lighthouse and windmills as seen in the last week's email with the Bangui and Pagudpud sisters. It was a lot of fun.

Tuesday: We didn't do tons of interesting things today. Just ran into a member at 7/11.

Wednesday: So a cool thing that happened today was we were looking around the market today and these kids were following us around. They were doing whatever I would do. If I stood, they stood. If I squatted, they did too. This went on for a bit until Elder Tuiaki started to talk to them in Tagalog. This really surprised them because they didn't think he spoke it. He started to then speak to them Ilokano as well which freaked them out even more. They then asked if I spoke Tagalog too and when Elder Tuiaki said I did they didn't believe him so, of course, that's when I jump into the conversation speaking Tagalog. At this point the kids are so surprised that they just ran away. I was laughing so hard.

Thursday: We tried to have a referral from someone but that person wasn't there. So we waited at a waiting shed for a bit and this 15 year old kid just walked up to us and started to talk with us. He accepted our invitation to have us come back another day. That was pretty cool. We were walking to another part of our area and walked by a school that had just got out so we talked to the little kids for a bit and I got pictures with a bunch of them. Watch out for the kid that is flipping off the camera though.

Friday: Zone Conference! I got to see Elder Wilson and it was super nice to see him again and talk to him. I also met most of the Peterson's family who were visiting their parents right now. Zone Conference was super good and I know they were inspired to teach those lessons. I got the Parker's package and I thank you for it! I loved the questions from Topher, Sydney, and Bo. To answer the questions I remember,1. Philippines didn't cross my mind to be honest. I am happy to be here though! 2. I love it here! 3. I always love it in Utah! I really appreciated the package!

Saturday: School is back in so it is getting harder to visit our investigators which is hard but we are figuring it out. We went to a birthday party and had a FHE with Nanay Gloria which all went well.

Sunday: Multi-stake conference! What that means in the Philippines in pretty much a full country broadcast. Why did we have it you may ask, it's because Elder Holland is here for the ground breaking of the temple and couldn't (naturally) visit every stake in the country so he had a broadcast to them all! It was so cool and very inspired. Later, we went to find a referral from the sisters in Bacarra so we went and found him and talked with him for a while. The spirit was so strong and we were able to extend a baptismal invitation which he accepted! We are super excited for him and his new wife(who is a member already)! It was a super spiritual day for me today!

Have fun with the pictures! Keep me updated in life!

New Companion!

This is Elder Saberdo. He's my new companion here in Ballesteros. He's great! Now that you know him, I can get to my week. A lot happened but mostly we just visited the members this week so that they could meet Elder Saberdo. We also met this Nanay on Saturday night and just kind of invited her to church. The member we were working with that day waited until after our conversation to tell us that she is crazy. On Sunday, she came to church and started asking people for money and apparently, later after we left, she started calling people devils and went hysterical so one of the members called the police. So that was super fun. But, on another note, my companion has a super strong testimony so our lessons have been going great! I'm excited for this next week! I hope you all had and will have a great week! I love you all and I know that God has a plan for you! He will help you through anything you have a problem with if you just pray to Him!

Transfers!

Guess what?! I'm getting transferred! I know I sound happy about it but I have mixed feelings. I know it is where I am meant to go, I'm excited, but I also know I will miss Pasuquin and the people that make it great. It feels like I am going to be leaving my home all over again. We good though! I think this experience will truly be for my good! Also, I can brag that I out lived 5 sisters in Pasuquin! So this week, we had our interviews with President Peterson and I realized while we were there that I feel so comfortable talking with them so I was happy to find that out about myself. It was a good interview.  We also had another great lesson with someone Elder Dagulo and I found last week so that was awesome! Sisters Autufuga and Mariano are going home and I am going to Cagayan! I'm going specifically to an area called Ballesteros. I am not only transferring but also becoming the senior companion! That is super crazy for me. Elder Dagulo is going to have Elder Peterson (a ...

Happy Father's Day!

So Happy Father's Day to all those fathers and future fathers out there. Also, Happy Birthday Kenzie! This week has been a lot better so thank you for all the prayers that you may have sent my way! We had some great experiences this week but the highlight for this week was for sure Friday and Saturday. Friday, we had the baptismal interview for Maricel and she, obviously, passed so that was super cool then we went to another appointment with the Ulibas family. This is just a sweet Nanay and her son that have been super welcoming to us. That is actually where that picture with the Buko(coconut) came from. We taught them Lesson 1 and the spirit was so strong. It was one of those lessons where I was speaking words in Tagalog that I didn't know but I just threw them out because they felt right and it ended up being the right sentence structure and the right words so even my companion was surprised afterwards by how much Tagalog I spoke. But the lesson went great and they received ...
