What a week! We had all sorts of spiritual experiences. Just remember that you can all email me at stephen.brousseau@myldsmail. net I would love your emails!
Friday: We emailed and did laundry for a lot of the day. We did baptisms because Elder Jones had some family names that he wanted to do so that was fun to do again. I got a few packages today! They were from the Arkells(My neighbors) and the Centenos(Sister Centeno's parents) so thanks to them!
Saturday: We taught 2 lessons and we both felt good about how the lessons went and if we taught by the spirit which we did. We couldn't place a feeling we both had. It felt like we were forgetting something but we couldn't place what it was. We had another one of those Saturday talks that seem to keep happening. This one was what made us go on our missions. It was a really eye opening talk because we all had different stories but the one thing that was a constant was the Atonement. We all decided that the Atonement was and is the reason we are on our missions.
Sunday: We got to do the sacrament prayers which is cool but we had to do them in complete Tagalog and let me tell you if you don't already know, Tagalog phrases are longer than English phrases. For example: Pananampalataya is the word for Faith. They are really long prayers in Tagalog so that was fun. We also taught the lesson in District Council just before that which went well. Sacrament meeting went well though even with the 5 minute prayers. During our mural ponder time, we went to Moses parting the Red Sea which is by far one of my favorite murals. We went to choir and Brother Eggett gave us some back story for the song "More Holiness Give Me" and it really added to my love for that song. There are a lot of qualities that we need to have in that song. We had a devotional about #LighttheWorld that went well. The Sunday video that we watched was "The Testaments." For those who don't know, that is a story of the Americas and the few that believed and were able to see both signs of Jesus and then see Jesus in person. It brings the spirit well.
Monday: Elder Collinwood was sick today and went back to the residence after dinner instead of class. I got a nice package from the Andersons(My neighbors) that I was super excited about. We didn't do much else today.
Tuesday: We went into the computer lab to listen to some Tagalog phrases and at one point we just heard Sister Aquino busting up. She had been listening to Elder Feletoa's LSA where he was singing because he didn't realize that it was recording. It was super funny. We gave Elder Collinwood a blessing because he has been sick for the past 2 days and he asked me to be the voice. It was super powerful to be the voice of a blessing with 6 missionaries in the circle. He started feeling better later that day so I know it worked. We had a devotional with Elder and Sister Ringwood. Sister Nelson-Ringwood(yes President Nelson's daughter) spoke about enduring to the end and wow does she speak like her dad. Elder Ringwood spoke about seeing the Lord's hand in our everyday life. It really brought the spirit.
Wednesday: We did service today. We also got chosen as runners for our service project tomorrow so we had a training meeting. While we were there, President Ralphe got up and said, "There has been an accident... the power will go out in a few minutes so don't freak out when that happens." We continued on with our training and on our way back to class, the power went out but we still got to learn things. It was cool to see that missionaries are more reliable than the US post. It didn't matter that we had essentially no power, (we did have back up power for some of the lights) we still gave all we had to the Lord in our lesson.
